Bio
Jaimes Mayhew is a Baltimore based artist, organizer and educator. He received his MFA from University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and his BA (cum laude) from Emerson College in Boston.
He has collaborated with such influential groups as The Institute for Infinitely Small Things, a Boston based research and performance collective, and Services United, a Baltimore based art collective. His work has been shown at Eyebeam (New York City), Mass MoCa (Massachusetts), Conflux Festival (Brooklyn), The Chapel of St. Cecilia (Brooklyn, NY), The Red Dawns Festival (Slovenia), This Is Not a Gateway (London), The Transmodern Festival (Baltimore, MD), Washington Project for the Arts (Washington, DC), Porch Projects (Washington, DC), The Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture (Baltimore, MD) and the Artscape Festival (Baltimore, MD), among others.
Jaimes has worked as Adjunct Faculty at University of Maryland Baltimore County, Towson University and Anne Arundel Community College, and has given artist talks at Cocoran College of Art and Design, American University, Rhode Island School of Art and Design, Emerson College, University of Maryland and others.
He is currently in Iceland on a Fulbright Grant until May 2012 working on an art project about geothermal and hydroelectric power. For more information about his project in Iceland, visit his .
